I heard about free $2000.00 worth of groceries on radio advertisement. When I called, it was American Value Grocery. I had to pay them $19.95 (one time fee) immediately and was told I would receive grocery certificates and $25.00 Walmart gift card within two weeks. There were also other programs that she said she HAD to tell me (requirement for her job). When she said she was signing me up for them for free I told her I wasn't interested. She said all I had to do is cancel within 30 day period and I wouldn't be charged anything. It was pretty much a condition that I had to participate in before I could receive the grocery certificates. Two weeks later one of the FREE programs charged my bank account $8.88 and in the next week took out another $14.95. I called them & they said they would put it back. They did a week later and after two of my previously written bill checks bounced. I was charged $33.00 apiece by my overdraft protection account and another $10.00 apiece from my bank for getting the overdraft. Because my Social Security check wasn't due for another week, I had to pawn my wedding rings from my deceased husband. I still owe $100.00 for that. I never received ANYTHING from ANYBODY. None of the programs sent me information about themselves or their services. I have since called each of them individually and cancelled except for American Value which I was told (when I called them) that I would have to go online and print out a form for cancellation and then mail it to them. I am truly angry. I haved included in my monetary claim, the American Value fee-$19.95, The Shopping to go fee and withdrawals -$23,83, the two bank overdraft charges-$86.00, and also included the $25.00 Walmart gift card I never recieved and my pawn charges of $100.00 that I still have to come up with to get my wedding rings back. I am also going to call the radio station and let them know they are pushing fraud scams via their programs on to their listeners. I wonder how much of all that money the radio station recieved? So, if there is EVER a lawsuit or judgement made against these people (ALL of them) I want to be a part of it. Thank you. Patricia Patrick
