I recieved a white envelope with no return address from Home Depot - In it was a pinkish colored check for 3980.00 and a letter stating that I was a winner in the Shoppers Sweepstake Lottery. It said that I was entitled to 150,000 dollars due to 20 people had to share 3 million dollars. It said that participants were randomly drawn from 50,000 names in US, Canada, & United Kingdom. The letter said to call claim agent MR Charles Bay at 1-289-892-2849. I was instructed to deposit the check into my account then call the number back so
that I could pay 1995.00 of the check in taxes. I reserched the company on the check which is Container Essentials LLC in Chicago, IL and the bank to be drawn from is Harris Trust & Savings Bank in Chicago, IL. the letter was signed by Brian McFarlen Promotion Manager. I will probably take the check to the bank tomorrow so they can follow up with the scam.
