Answered a help wanted ad on Craigslist asking for an assistant for the "owner and manager of small internet media consulting firm." It looked and sounded legit, so I submitted a letter and resume with my real name & address.* Big mistake!

I decided to Google "Wellman Careers & Partners." Well, guess what? The first page was Scambook entries about the company.

I can usually spot a fake CL ad, but this one got by me. And it's already been taken down so I can't even flag it as spam.

* (Normally, if I see an ad on CL that I suspect is a scam, I submit a form letter with no return address, stating that if the company is legit, they can contact me for more information; and a resume that omits my personal info & names of former employers.)
