The complaint is mobile text spam or smishing related against an anonymous entity

The company or person contact no longer exists

International boundaries

They contact you and set up a Tablink Sportsbet account in your name and place gaming wagers on your behalf, supposedly so only you can access the funds in the account. However when you go to withdraw the funds, it's impossible as only Proficient First who owns the master account can access your money. When you try and contact Proficient First they never return calls. My money is now down the drain.....don't touch them as they are a scam

  • Hi, just wondering if this complaint about this company is in Australia or overseas? I know a few people that have been involved with them with no problems at all? They are all based in Sydney.

  • Hi,I have been dealing with this company since September last year and have never had any trouble getting someone to contact me.I am not a big investor and withdraw a small amount every three months once I have paid my invoice.My initial due diligence was to check phone contact which was Sydney and postmarks on mailed correspondence which was coded eastern Sydney.further more the results page shows a lot of my actual wagers this is not going to make me rich but its better than the bank,im also with a group of people and they all do the same.

  • No luck getting anything out of Proficient First, they don't return calls and won't answer emails. I know of 2 other people who have been scammed by them as well now. They turned my $12,000 into $38,000 but I can't get anything out of them. Tablink Sportsbet isn't a registered betting agency in Australia so the Dept gaming has no control of them, I was told it is actually illegal to place internet bets as they are not Australian based. Aske them for a real phone number if you're still ot sure, all you get is answering service with the numbers they give you. The address is Nth Sydney is a totally different business and the business address registered in the Eastern Suburbs, has all mail returned as not at this address. Maybe they may answer this message?? Regards Peter

  • Thanks for the update and you have my sympathies. I would suggest that the comments posted by Brock26 and Davepaul were from the scammers themselves. An hour or so checking these guys out (and I am strictly an amateur) revealed the following:

    False street address on website - no such company there
    Address of Director Richard Paul Montgomery on ASIC company profile also false - no such address (it's a hairdressers not a block of units in Bondi)
    The scammers have numerous other websites offering similar "services"; Google the 1300 fax number and you will find www.intelligentsportsinvestments.com
    Not convinced? Got to http://www.onthesamehost.com and search on the domain of their "preferred" online bookmaker tablinksportsbet.com and see how many more come up

    They have covered their tracks well and it just goes to show that even in Australia there are insufficient identity checks on company directors.

    I suspect the "winnings" that you are not able to access are not real - do they tell you what they are betting on before they publish the results?

    I would strongly urge Dedicated Servers ( www.dedicatedservers.net.au - the hosting company in Brisbane and Sydney that hosts proficientfirst.com ) to take down their site immediately to help stop other hardworking people having their hard earned cash nicked.

    I kind of doubt that I or you, Peter, will get a response from the scammers, or that you get your money back, although I sincerely hope I'm wrong on that count.

  • Yeah they have all been told they had to shut down all there accounts due to some tax bullshit, if I was a betting man I'd say they have all done there Arse!! Sounded way to good to be true in the first place, you should really have a good look at yourself for jumping in on it!!

  • Been scammed by Proficient first myself,told the same as everybody else.
    there pretty good at hiding there tracks but all tracks cant be covered.A little bit of sniffing around has found some useful information,once confirmed stay tuned.

  • HI Gotya, Would like to hear anything you come with on Proficient First, they're good at covering there tracks, but as you say things can still be traced. I have found a couple of other names they operate under and also a couple of other betting websites they use, which are also all fake!!

  • Don't pay them anything else....they just come out with every excuse and every lie they can think of and when they can't answer they just hang up on you.

  • It is a scam company operating from the Gold Coast. The company is registered under a false name. They have been operating via many different names over many years such as
    Excellence IV
    Ultimate Sports Bet
    Ascend.1
    Equity S1

    They don't have offices in Sydney, both are empty as i have been there. The money you invest shows up in Tablink as growing however it doesn't exist. It was fraudulently taken the next day and gone. This scam is Australia wide and they keep getting away with it. I have seen accounts that have lots of $$ in them but it is false. They will keep you going till they know you have no more cash then wipe you.

  • Simon i can't leave my details here but can add more info and am happy to contact you. Richard Montgomery does not exist neither does the female by the names of Olivia, Heather ect. It is a father and son team plus another female (williamson). They are good at what they do as they have been doing it for years. They have already started a new company and am close to finding the name. These guys are now targeting all the old customers of Ultimate Sports Bet & Cyber Sports Bet to get them to invest in Tab Link. He hides his business dealings under his wives company in real estate. The main man Hanneman has made millions from this scheme. I recently saw a new company in tpgholdings. The net server for Proficient and Tablink are located offshore (france) to deter snoopy people. QLD police have a file on it but aren't doing much with it.

  • Simon88 i am in NSW. It's sad that there is probably still many people who don't know they're victims yet. Once you see the account growing they will email you asking you to open a second account. When you want out they will run the account down to zero and blame Tab Link.

  • Like myself Cray,you have information which will reveal the identitys and movements of these paticular scumbags,if theres another platform we can discuss this on out of the watchful eye of these rodents up North let me know.Proficient First have even gone to the extent of finding out who I am and offering me a refund of some of my money in return for removing scambook comments placed by myself,needless to say I havent seen a dime.
    They have scammed myself & friends in excess of 50k.Simon 88 seems like another proficient first snoop.

  • I have contacted the ACCC, they will be looking into it. They have a CBA account which is Sydney based, they ATO will also be looking into the movement on this account. I originally invested 1k, it has now grown to over 2k in approx 5 months, I have had no invoice for their 10% commission as per my contract. This will stop, the ACCC is asking me for all my original documents.

  • i too have been scammed by these people, $10,000 in 2 accounts. they still seem to be trading but when i asked to withdrawal money tablink sportsbet ask for a invoice receipt however i have never received an invoice. Now after follow up emails they just ignore me. would gladly help in getting money back if anyone knows how?

  • Just had a phone call here at work, it was a sales guy trying to sell a product. After listening to him and his spiel, an alarm bell went off in my head, I can't be sure but damn it sounded exactly like ficticious Mr Montgomery and at the end after he finished he "so how about it, would you like to join us and come onboard" exactly what the Proficient First sales person said to me that fateful day. I've checked out the site somethings not right here IMO. http://www.amazingadsaustralia.com.au/ They might be onto a diiferent angle, BTW, during the phone call he mentioned a price of only $599 plus tax to get you started. I'll watch this one closely.
