It's been 7 months since I began this trip down fraud lane to get my mortgage modified. I have filed for bankruptcy and am financially wiped out. I fiilled out an online form looking for help modifying my mortgage and the first one to call me was Residential Retention Center - they claimed they were working in partnership with the government to help all of us who were going to lose our homes due to the recession. I paid a $595 fee plus 3 full mortgage payments that they said they were keeping in a holding account until my loan modification with Wells Fargo was finalized. As of three days ago, their phones have been disconnected and they return none of my emails. I can't believe I was so stupid but I couldn't believe anyone would be so evil. I am kicking myself.
