I too received a call regarding a political survey and was advised that upon the completion of this "30 second" survey, I would speak with a representative to receive a free Carribean cruise to the Bahamas. The representative then advised me of a $118.00 port of call charges for two passengers. I informed the Customer Service Rep (Jason), that I did not know him and did not feel comfortable giving him my CC info. He proceeded to invite his "superviser" into the conversation and upon reconsideration, I realized that I could dispute the charges if they turned out to be fraudulent, so I paid it. Well, this must have been the green light for the superviser to "up the ante" and he began to offer me extended stay offers and extra travel destinations and immenities...obviously for a lot more than the $118.00 port of call charges and a "free" trip. It became apparent, the more I rejected the "extra offers" the more agitated the superviser became...so much so that he handed the call off to a woman named "Melissa" (without excusing himself), who took her turn in trying to change my mind by fast-talking to me regarding this great offer I was "missing out on". By this time I was frustrated because I recognized the bait & switch that was taking place and informed Melissa of this and how upset I was that I took the time to take what was supposed to be a 30 second survey and which had by this time turned into a one hour and two minute call! After explaining for approximately the fourth time to Melissa that I was not interested in anything but the initial offer, and a rude exchange of words, initiated by "Melissa", she transferred my call to a "Davonte", who listened with no interruptions as I expressed to him that I no longer had any interest in ANY trip at all, free or otherwise. He then advised me that he was going to transfer me, yet again, to his superviser "Ashley". Ashley proceeded to speak with me as though I was interrupting her day and rudely asked me, "what do you want?!" I informed Ashley, with much frustration that I no longer wanted any part of any cruise or offer being offered by Carnival Cruise Lines and that I wanted my $118.00 to be put back on my CC immediately. Ashley then proceeded to literally yell at the top of her lungs in the phone and obviously to Davonte..."DAVONTE, CANCEL IT!!! She then slammed the phone down in my ear, disconnecting the call. I was furious and attempted to call back, but could not get past the automated service, which I'm SURE was a good thing. I made a mental note to contact Carnival Cruise Lines regarding this matter, after returning home from running the errands I had put off for a 30 second survey!
