We signed up to Direct Tv when I lost my job dur to th fact they had a basic package of 29.99 a month. We were on the phone for sign up and we were told it woud be 29.99 a month and three FREE boxes, and no set up fees for being a new customer. When they came to the house we were not home and they mounted the dish to the front of the house, and our bill for the first month was 78.00 I called they told me that once I submitted the rebate that the price would go down to the package reate. I submitted the rebate and they continue to take 78.00 out of my checking account. When I called again they stated that it is because of the insurance that we have and for all the special services that we have on our package. I explained to them that we did not ask for these services and that they were never discussed with us we would have never agreed to pay more than the package deal of 29.00 a month. I sent them an email right after out first bill and asked them to remove their product from our home if the bill was going to be more then the advertised price and they never responded to us. I got off the phone with them tonight and again stated that we did not agree to all fo this and that is a gross misrepresentation of their product and it is fraud to verbally tell people one thing and do something totaly different. I told them to come get their product and was told it would be 400.00 to do that. I asked why when I have sent emails and called and no one responds the customer rep stated that I was sent a contrac a week after signing up that would have explained all of these additional charges to me. I never received a contract and why would you send it after the fact of instaation and connection? I am searching for guidance on this matter as soon as possible. They have over drafted my cjecking account already and I only switched to save money when I lost my job , this is a luxury not a nessecity and if I would have known that it was going to cost more money monthly I would have never agreedto it.
