This is a complicated tale. I managed to get tangled up with two separate scam loan companies. (I will be filing a complaint for the other one too). Both companies operate in the same way and this is basically what happened. I needed a loan for a new car but I have terrible credit history. I applied for a loan with sameday loans and they said I was approved without doing a credit check. The loan amount was for £2000 and they told me that all I had to do was make one months repayment upfront. They asked me to purchase a UKASH e-voucher and read the pin number to them over the phone. I foolishly agreed. Herein lies the scam. I paid them £90 and then they said that I would receive a call from their accounts department to verify my bank account details. Then they told me that I had to pay a refundable £295 government tax fee. I did not have enough money to cover the tax fee and they told me that they would not release the funds until this fee was paid and I could not get a refund of the £90 I had already paid them if I decided to pull out. I was in tears by this point ( I also got dumped by my girlfriend the same day which didn't help matters) and the person on the other end of the phone started laughing at me for crying! I cannot believe people like this are allowed to operate in such a fraudulent manner and get away with it. Something needs to be done to stop these evil and heartless thieves!
