Received call from number 510-943-3040 with same very hard to understand female at 9:30 am in the morning. She kept insisting that I had problems on my PC and I told her that she was not providing me with any information to prove that it was my pc 'sending' these issues or notifications and to whom were they being sent. She wanted me to run the event viewer, which I did. I then did the bad thing and allowed her to talk me into running www.support.me and they managed to then connect to my machine and took control. The name David Brown was then in control of my machine. When I told them that this made me very uneasy because they still were not proving who they were. The call was then turned over to Charles, as more technical. I stated I wanted to know who they were and an orangeservices.com web page was manufactured and loaded and not via a web browser. So, as soon as that happened, I knew this was a scam and immediately stated 'No', I'm not paying for anything. They then set a password on my machine and I told them to undo that and they hung up on me and forced a shutdown of my system. When the system restarted, it came up with a small screen asking for a password (not the Windows login; machine was not getting that far) to unlock my business computer, which of course I did not know. I luckily had a system backup from 2 weeks ago that I used to restore back to. These folks need to be caught and stopped.
