We sent money by Western Union from Miami to my son on October 3. He was going to study abroad in Madrid, Spain. He needed the money upon arrival to open a bank account for charges in Spain for the semester. He arrived in Spain on October 8. He went to claim the money and they told him that it was picked up on October 5. And thats it. Complaints, phone calls...they are not returning the money. They say that some one with an official ID picked up the money. Oviously it was a fake but they do not give us a copy of that "official ID" because "they have to protect the privacy" (OF THE THIEF). My son was not even in Spain at the time of the pick up. We offered to give proof of the flight, visa stamped at the airport. They do not care. They even acused us of triying to collect the money twice...Desperate is a light word to describe this rip off by Western Union. DO NOT SEND MONEY. IF SOMEONE CAN GET IT YOU WILL NEVER RECOVER IT.
