GE HAD A HEATER RECALL ON ITS DISHWASHER. THE HEATER WAS CAUSING FIRES. THE REPAIR MAN CAME AND SAID I HAD TO RIP MY CERAMIC TILE IN FRONT OF THE DISHWASHER SO THEY COULD PULL THE WASHER OUT. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXPLAINED AND THEY OFFERED TO PAY $200 FOR ME TO HAVE A PERSON RIP THE TILE UP AND PULL THE DISHWASER OUT AND PUT IT BACK. BEING A SMALL JOB IT WAS DIFFICULT TO GET ANYONE BUT A HANDYMAN SAID TO SEND THEM THE BILL AND THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME UP TO $2OO. I PAID THE MAN $250 AND SENT HIS BILL. THEY REFUSED TO REIMBURSE ME THE $200 BECAUSE THE BILL DID NOT SAY PAID. I SENT ANOTHER THAT SAID PAID IN CASH AND EXPLAINED IT WAS A LOCAL HANDYMAN THAT ONLY ACCEPTED CASH AND IT WAS AN UNDERTHE TABLE JOB FOR HIM. IN NJ IT IS DIFFICULT TO GET A COMPANY TO COME FOR THAT SMALL A JOB. AFTER MORE REFUSALS BY CUSTOMER SERVICE TO PAY ME-THIS TIME THE EXCUSE WAS THE MAN HAD GIVEN ME A RECEIPT ON A COMPANY LETTER THAT SAID IT ACCEPTED CHECKS I SENT A PICTURE OF THE TILE THAT WAS STILL RIPPED UP IN FRONT OF THE DISHWASHER,M AND A PICTURE OF ME A 74 YEAR OLD FEMALE AND TOLD THEM THE JOB HAD BEEN DONE AND I PHYSICALLY, AS THE PICTURE SHOWED, WAS TOO OLD TO HAVE DONE IT MY SELF AND NOW I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY THEY PROMISED ME SO THE LOCAL HANDYMAN COULD FIX IT. THIS IS FRAUD-I DID NOT CAUSE THE DISHWASHER TO HAVE THE HEATING PROBLEM--IT WAS THEIR RECALL AND MY TILE HAD TO BE REMOVED FOR SOMETHING THEIR COMPANY DID. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REP AND I HAVE ALL THEE NAMES OF THE PEOPLE I SPOKE TO AND THE DOCUMENTS OF THEIR PROMISE TO GIVE ME THE $200.
