My 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid suddenly accelerated to high speed in a grocery store crossing lane filled with pedestrians. I slammed on the brake and swerved to avoid hitting someone, ran through a tree and smashed into the store's wall. The car is totalled, but the accelerator shows no evidence of this strange and sudden speed.I have since discovered the same thing has happened elsewhere with this hybrid.
