I received a phone call from a gentleman who called himself Dale Denton. He claimed to be VP of this Opportunity Central and said he could set me up with an LLC. This caught my attention because I had recently done some looking into setting up an LLC for a small start up business. He proceeded to explain that with this LLC I could also do business with his company to set up businesses who accept credit cards and get them lower rates on their transactions. And if they would allow them to put in new credit card machines I could get $500 per machine...He provided me with 3 phone numbers and a website address to investigate; however, I had told him I wasn't at a computer at the time. As much as I didn't want to I gave out my information, mainly because of wanting an LLC that a small business could operate under. He answered all my questions, and put a couple different people on the line to portray the steps of getting it approved. After it was "finalized" he gave me his personal cell number to call if I had any more concerns. So I get to my office and begin to look up the website he gave me and all it had was one page with the name Opportunity Central, no contact, no address, nothing...So proceeded to call the 1800 numbers he provided and both went directly to voicemail. So I called the cell number he gave me and it too went directly to voicemail...I made a few calls to these numbers throughout the afternoon, but the realization that I had been bamboozled had already set in...I contacted my credit company who referred me to my bank who of course was closed for the day and thus being a Friday, I will have to wait until Monday to dispute this charge. My gut told me not to, but the fact it was an LLC which I was needing made me go against my instincts...Irritates me that these people can get my number, which is on the do not call list, and know that I had been inquiring about an LLC and feed me all their crap to get a few hundred dollars and possibly get away with it...lying, cheating and stealing all for a buck...
