On 3/10/2013 my boyfriend and I boarded flight 1580 leaving from Las Vegas travelling to Newark, NJ. My boyfriend and I were not seated together. He was seated in row 12 (i think)near the window. He sat down and shortly after a woman and a man joined that row as well. She was sitting in the middle and her husband was sitting in the aisle seat. She then looked at my boyfriend and said that he was invading her space so he said what do you mean If you are uncomfortable I can switch seats with your husband and take the aisle seat but the woman said we are not moving. After a while the woman got up and went to the stewardess and said something to her. The stewardess walked by their row and proceeded to go to the back of the aircraft. She then returned and advised the woman that there were two empty seats in the rear of the plan but the woman refused. She continued to say remarks to her husband regarding my boyfriend sitting there but he ignored her. She then got up again making her way to the stewardess making a scene on the plane. The stewardess again attempted to accomodate the lady and her husband but again she refused. The stewardess said that's it we are going back to the gate. We got back to the gate and passengers were standing and huffing because we were returning back to the gate. It was the most humiliating thing that I have ever experienced. A lady (supervisor I think)came on the plane to their row and again attempted to accomodate the passengers and again they refused. The passenger was talking very loud saying that she didnt want to sit next to my boyfriend but she didn't want to move she wanted him to move. A man came on to the plane and was advised of the issue and he offered the couple the seats and again the lady refused. This went on for almost an hour. People were getting very agitated. Then the woman and her husband was escorted off of the plane, shortly after a gentleman approached my boyfriend asking him to please move his seat because he was overruled by another mgr. and that if they were to leave the couple off of the plane it would take longer for us to leave cause they would have to remove their luggage. After my boyfriend heard that and took in consideration that others were being inconvienced..... He proceeded to take the seat in the back. The was very uncalled for. If the couple were offered other seats and refused they should have just dealt with my boyfriend sitting there. He did nothing wrong and should not have been made to move his seat. This is uncalled for and will be dealt with to the highest capacity.
