I play Snail USA's game Age of Wushu. The game intrigued me and was a lot of fun, so I chose to buy their in-game currency to purchase outfits and the like from their cash shop. I practice VERY RIGID security measures with my online accounts - I have never been hacked in any game or service I have used. However, on the early morning of Sunday, April 21st my account was accessed by an IP address in China, along with the accounts of several other players. All of my in-game currency was taken. While it was not much left (about $6~8 dollars worth), I contacted customer support for help.They essentially said it was my fault my account was compromised, that all of us were compromised, and that they would do nothing to help us out. When I further tried to explain the situation, they got generally hostile and told me to stop bothering them about it. This is unacceptable. My actual, real-world money was spent on this game, and my goods were taken from me by a slip up on their end they refuse to admit. I want my money returned, and I want to be treated with respect.
