I don't normally buy stuff from strangers who come to my door, but thought I was helping a struggling student earn points for school. How stupid am I! But my ignorance aside, the "student" clearly misrepresented the total cost of the book/dvd. In fact she flat out lied. I asked her point blank "is the $29 check IT; that's all I have to pay" and she looked me straight in the eye and said "yes, ma'am, that's it." A while later when I looked closer at the receipt she gave me (my bad for not looking at it before), that's when I discovered that, in fact, there was a balance of $29.95 that had to be sent before order would be processed!!! At the bottom of the receipt was a form whereby one can supposedly "cancel the transition within 3 business days from the above date." I immediately filled out the form and mailed it the following day. I seriously doubt I'll get my money back, but they sure as heck will not be getting any more from me! And if I see that girl in my neighborhood again, I'm calling the police. I kept a copy of the form I sent in for cancellation which has her name on it ..... if indeed that's her real name!

Yes, I should have paid more attention to what was in the "fine print" but this girl told an outright lie in answer to my up front question. The really sad thing is, there are several seniors in my neighborhood (I'm one myself) and some had paid her cash. Those poor folks will surely never see that money and/or whatever they ordered either.
