I ordered a Dyson vacuum on June 18th and paid using Paypal. After making the purchase I sent an email asking when my order would ship so I could gauge the delivery time but never got a response. I followed up with another email on the 19th and instead of a response my order changed from "awaiting fulfillment" to "awaiting shipment". I then sent another email asking which carrier was being used and what shipping method however the email failed with the standard no recipient message. I went to the website and found it was down and the shopping cart service that was used from bigcommerce.com was also down. I attempted to use the email that was listed in the paypal account that I submitted my payment to but that too did not work. Some additional investigation uncovered that this seller kitchendeal as listed in paypal turned out to have had a previous site called thekitchendeal.com and it turns out they where doing the same thing as lynkmart.com. I have contacted Paypal and opened a claim to get my money back as this was clearly a scam. The unfortunate thing is that had Paypal not listed them as verified I probably wouldn't have made the purchase. Using paypal may have provided me some protection but IMO they should have been aware that this seller was using them for fraudulent activities since I was able to tie both thekitchdeal.com and lynkmart.com back to the same paypal account.

  • Thanks David, I just came to the same conclusions this morning and submitted my claim on paypal. Let me know how it turns out, I may have to go to my credit card company to charge this back.

  • This is very very strange. I just got home and there was a box from Bed Bath and Beyond, not from lynkmart. I ordered it from lynkmart.com on Monday.

Inside the box is a receipt that shows the order is $299, shipping $22.99, tax $24 for a total of $346.99. When I bought the item on www.lynmart is was only $229.00 and that's exactly what I was charged. This just seems weird why would they purchase it for $346.99 and offer it on their website for over $100 less...??? There are details on the order it shows ordered by. Sukhjit Sharma 6012 W. Everett Avenue Fresno, CA 93722. It still sounds very fishy to me.

  • Paypal sent me an email this morning with an update on my claim. Apparently the seller contacted them (paypal must have a different email address than what is on the seller's account because it doesn't work) and gave them a tracking # for the shipment which is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. So I will have to wait to see what shows up on my door step tomorrow. From my research with similar situations like ours, it appears these online merchants make the purchases using "acquired" credit cards, then sell the purchases to people like us for a cheaper price. Because they aren't spending their own money and using these "acquired" cards they pocket the money we paid and didn't spend any of their own money to make the purchase. This is all theory of course but its a pretty strong theory. I'll let you know what shows up tomorrow.

  • Received the shipment this morning. While it is a Dyson vacuum its not the one I ordered and the invoice shows the purchase was made at Walmart by someone other than Lynkmart or kitchendeal. I revised my claim with Paypal to reflect the different product than what I purchased. Paypal indicated they will investigate further and let me know and informed me that it could take 30 days to complete the claim. They even had the nerve to tell me that I need to respond to questions quickly when they ask to assist in processing the claim. Really, I have to monitor the claim to help them when I have already provided all the information they need.

  • I also received a dyson vacuum yesterday but like you it was the wrong dyson vacuum. Like everything else with this company it was strange. It was shipped to me at my address but it was shipped from expeditors international. I am not sure what I am going to do at this point. I don't believe for a second I could send it back and get the correct vacuum and I don't really want to spend 30 days dealing with a paypal claim. Besides if I did try to return it who would I contact to let them know I am sending it back. Lynkmart is gone and I have no idea who expeditors international is and I doubt they know who I am. I have learned my lesson about ordering off sits I don't know.
