Since May 2013 I have been having trouble with my TV signal. According DirecTV it was due to the dish antenna. The first service person in May did not even look at the antenna. The third person I dealt with had me purchase a new remote for $15.00. Then on Sunday, July 7th a service tech spent an hour supposedly working on the antenna and swore up and down it was the somewhat thin branches of a tree blocking the signal. He insisted that the tops of the tree had to be taken down.In retrospect, I now realize he hadn't been truthful, he knew exactly what was wrong ( he kept saying that if I didn't get a signal to call them immediately) I had the tree taken care of on Monday, July 8th to the tune of $50.00....and still no signal. I was assured that someone would call me ( no one did) and send a tech to "assess" what was wrong. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out...it was the dish transponder and they just didn't want to spend whatever to fix it. I subsequently terminated the service on July 9th. DirectTV had me jumping though hoops, lied to me and caused me to disfigure a tree. Perhaps I should have been more savy, but I am 81 years old and still trust people to be doing the right thing.
