A man with an Eastern Indian accent called me today and told me his name was Michael Wright and he worked for David Harrison. He gave me his bar number: AB2472898 and said that my husband owed money for a payday loan we never took out. I asked for more information including phone number, which he gave me (510-405-1088) which showed up on my Caller ID. I proceeded to call this number back and a woman named Amanda answered, told me it was her cell phone, and had no clue who Michael Wright or David Harrison was. I also looked up the bar number 510-405-1088 on the California Bar Association website and came up with no results matching Michael Wright or David Harrison. In fact, when I searched the last four digits - 2898 - the database told me the lawyer has since perished. This is definitely a scam and I am trying to get in contact with my state representative to have it checked out. Michael returned the call and I told him about the other person who answered. Michael told me that was his assistant and tried to tell me I was wrong and that it was his assistant. I told him I'd call back. They have not called since. WATCH OUT FOR THESE PEOPLE!
