    • Thierry Nchang Cho Complaint / User Submitted Image #282221

I was surfing the web looking for a teacup platinum pure bred pomeranian. I ran into his site, and it really seemed legit. I sent him the email, and immediately noticed many grammar errors. I didn't get too suspicious. He told me his phone number, and told me he preferred texting. I texted him, and asked for the price of the dog. His English was very bad. He said $600 total for shipping. It didn't seem that bad, so I agreed to pay for it. He told me to send it to him through western union. I know scams happen through western union, so to reduce the loss, I sent $300 instead. After that was done, an email calling itself "Pet Express" showed up. It asked me for $990 for insurance, and a crate, because apparently, due to the change in climate, the crate is incompatible. The pet express called my phone very early in the morning, because he was 5 hours ahead of me. I called him back, and I noticed the number was from the same guy. When he called me, I asked myself a question. "Why would a pet transporting company use an iPhone to call me?" I could hear kids in the backround, and I started asking him questions. "Could you call quarantine? I know that animals stay for weeks, possibly months, so I need to know what's going to happen." Thierry then says, "No, we have the health papers, it won't go through quarantine." I started telling him that it is Hawaiian law that it goes through quarantine. We have no rabies, and it has no choice but to go through quarantine. He started saying "No! Leave it to us! Please send the $990 now!" I continued to say it was the law, and he started yelling. I hung up, and got a friend to talk to him. He told her the dog was being sent over, and it will show up the next day 7:30 AM. He called us 5 AM in the morning, and we didn't answer. The dog didn't show up, so we called him again. We asked him for the flight number, and he wouldn't give it to us. We are now 99% sure that this is a scam. We got sad about losing $300, and filed a police report. The police contacted his local police, and he is possibly in trouble now. However, we did not get a refund. Please! Be careful! Don't send money through moneygram or western union! Don't buy pets from this man! He's from Minnesota, but he told us to send the money to Africa! He has made over $10,000 in 2 weeks through scamming.
