  • Absolutely HATE to see people scammed out of their hard earned money. This is NOT the case. People need to think about the legitimacy of offers BEFORE they willingly give out their bank account info, sign up to have money auto-debited and lock themselves into contracts. This company called me (DING DING, RED LIGHT #1) offering me a large credit limit with no credit check (DING DING, RED LIGHT #2) & small deposit. Commonsense leads one to believe that this is UNUSUAL, to say the least. Told them I'd prefer to apply online. So went to their website, applied online, and BEFORE SIGNING I did what any person does prior to signing a contract, I READ THE TERMS & CONDITIONS of their overly generous, no strings attached credit offer. The 1st of 40 paragraphs made it CRYSTAL CLEAR that this card could ONLY be used at the HorizonOutlet & affiliates and would serve ZERO PURPOSE elsewhere. They DIDN'T WITHHOLD any terms of the agreement, YOU FAILED TO READ THEM or listen when they explained them to you.
People become so blinded by the idea of getting lots of stuff for free whether it's credit or goods, that they don't even look at what they're getting themselves into.
WHERE IS THE SCAM? Bc I can't find one here. It is the responsibility of the consumer to investigate the legitimacy of offers presented to them BEFORE they give out their bank info, before they sign their signature, AFTER reading (and understanding) the offer terms. This isn't you being scammed; its you failing to protect your rights as a consumer. I didn't sign....why would YOU?

  • PS Even IF you do get your deposit refunded (which is doubtful as you signed this binding agreement and your signature means you understood the extensive terms as outlined) you are locked into an even further financial obligation (per the terms you agreed too, again with your signature). There are cancellation fees, monthly fees, etc. Again, all clearly defined in the subtext next to the box you checked off as having understood completely.
