Their Florida deal sounds legit as it is part of a timeshare sales pitch; however, my issue was with how the call centre staff dealt with me.
Firstly, I was told that I was being awarded a trip to Florida and she jumped into her spiel. I asked her to clarify if I had won a trip to Florida or if I was going to have to pay for anything and she said I had won the opportunity for a heavily discounted holiday. I have worked in call centres for 10 years so I could already see the layers of crap on this one. She asked me if I had a credit card and I said no. After she told me about this fantastic trip, she still had not given me the price. She said she was going to transfer me to my travel organiser and welcomed me aboard and I was like, wait, what? So when the guy came on the line, I said to him I was confused and didn't know what I was being welcomed to. I asked him again what the cost would be and he also refused to answer as he would go through all of that. OK dude, go ahead, waste your time buddy! So FINALLY, after 20 minutes, he mentions $798. I could have wasted more of his time but I wanted a coffee so I cut him off and asked when that had to be paid. He said today and I told him straight out I do not have that kind of cash in the back. He said it is ok, I can use my credit card, I said I have already stated I don't have one. THEN, he said, well let's just put you through to the finance department and see if the payment goes through? WHAT? I told him no, it would go through, but I need that money for rent. He again said about trying to put it through! I told him no, I will be paying my rent, thank you. And of course, his voice instantly changed and he wanted to get me off the phone. LOL. I said to him, if you don't want your time wasted, tell people that upfront and he hung up. The deal was good, but I could not afford it TODAY; however, the way their call centre staff spoke and did not answer questions and wasted MY time and THEIRS, is the reason I would NEVER deal with OMNI.
