I have also been hit by this unscrupulous company, disguising itself as a Government entity with the word "Singapore" in its name, bearing the official Singapore Lion Head logo and threatening removal of my company's records from the "Singaporean Company Register database" if I did not update my company's information within 1 week from the date of the letter. No mention of cost or that they were selling a service.

Once you've logged in, you're deemed to have accepted their terms and conditions and as such, liable for S$490.00 (with GST) - which was never made known till I was slapped with the invoice.

Although their letterhead says "Singapore Company Register", their company registration with ACRA does not have "Singapore" in it. "Singapore" and the use of the "Singapore Lion" logo was used purely to deceive.

This unethical company must be shutdown and the directors, one of whom I suspect is a property agent here in Singapore, must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I hope her license to sell property will be revoked by The Council For Estate Agents.

The right for this company to use the Singapore Lion logo seems to have been withdrawn, as can be seen from their website. However, envelopes with the logo are still being sent out to people who were cheated into "subscribing" to their service - which, from what I can see is worthless. I wonder if this is in violation of the removal order from NHB.

I have lodged a police report against this company and I now understand that the case is being escalated to the Commercial Affairs Department. I believe they will act swiftly and firmly against this company. I'd encourage everyone affected to take time out of their busy schedules to lodge police reports. Do this before CNY for your peace of mind, but more so that they will not be at peace.

The advice from the police at this point is this - DO NOT PAY.

With ACRA, NHB, SPF and CAD all up in arms, I don't think this company will be seeing the light of day for long and the directors must be severely punished - as a deterrent. I hope Interpol issues a warrant of arrest for the Hungarian director listed as well, if he is not currently in Singapore.

I hope criminal offence translates to jail time.

The wheels of the Government agencies are turning... Kudos!
