Someone posted info on a "free trial" of Lumanelle products on March 2/14. For a small shipping fee ($3.95 or $4.95 depending on the product) you can try out three of their high end creams (Luma Repair, Luma Hydrate, and a wrinkle reducer). *Sounds* like a good deal, BUT...

Here is what they didn't tell me up front: they got my credit card # for the shipping fees. THEN they let me know that after my 14-day "free" trial, unless I cancel the order, they will CHARGE ME $79.95 and $89.95 (for a couple ounces of creams) for the "free" products they sent me. But wait, that's not all! They also plan to ship me another order EVERY MONTH until and unless I tell them to stop.

The operator couldn't or wouldn't tell me what ingredients were in the product, so I said fine, ship them and I'll read the labels. After reading the labels, I didn't want their "better living through chemistry" on my face. Some of the ingredients listed on their products include parabens (which disrupt normal hormone function), triethanolamine (which adversely affects the immune system), and polyethylene glycol, or PEG (a potential carcinogen).

So I called them to cancel. When I said I wanted to return the product, they asked if I knew any friends or family that would like to try them, instead. Umm, no thank you, if I won't put it on MY skin, why would I give it to someone else that I like?

Oh, and if I want them to NOT charge me for everything, I also have to return the unused product. So now for three products that I don't want to use, I will be paying $3.95 + $3.95 + $4.95 (the shipping fees are for EACH product) PLUS the cost of shipping their stuff back to them. I don't know how much that will be, but I'm guessing well over $10. So essentially it has cost me about $25 to read their labels to decide not to use their stuff.

Oh, and it took 10 days for the first two products to arrive, and the third item still hasn't been delivered 14 days later. Bear in mind that these are for a time-limited "free" trial and that I am required to return the unused product to avoid further charge. Not sure how I will accomplish that if they don't send it all...
