Like seemingly thousands of others, I sent for 2 'free' samples of Pioneer Labs products via an advert on Facebook and paid just for shipping, only to find some days later that they had taken a huge amount of money from my bank. I had checked out the Terms and Conditions given on the advert website and found nothing about an ongoing agreement. If I had, there is no way I would have signed up for it.

I immediately contacted the bank who stopped further transactions going out and who said they were well aware of this company and their scams.

I then phoned the number given for the company, ending up predictably at an Asian call centre. I was told I should have cancelled the agreement I wasn't even aware of within 14 days of ordering. I remonstrated with the person in the strongest terms and was told I could have £40 back as a 'one time offer'. I declined without thanks and asked again for a full refund. I told the man that the delivery note sent with the product stated that a refund could be given within 14 days from DELIVERY, not ordering. He then said the company was at fault and I should scan the delivery notes and email the scans to them for a refund. I did this and received an email stating that a refund was not possible and reiterating that cancellation was only possible within 14 days of ordering, not delivery.

I have since been back to the bank and they have opened a case with the company, as I have been charged for goods which I didn't order and I haven't even received. In fact they told me during the first call that it was unlikely I would get any further goods from this company, based on the experiences of hundreds of other people they have spoken to. I have also informed the UK Police Fraud Squad.

This company is working outside the European Distance Selling Regulations on several levels and the way they conduct their operation is completely unlawful.
