Through craigslist found a very nice la jolla property at 2804 W. Romney Rd., San Diego that seemed too good to be true and it was. We investigated before putting any money toward it...the craigslist ad scam guy gave us the address...so we checked google earth and the pictures lined up with the pictures outside (OK seemed maybe legit but wanted further checks)...my wife called the county assessor to see who is owner who paid taxes on the property and upon getting owner name and then going to google we were able to find the owners phone number and upon contacting him we found out for sure the craigslist ad was a hoax and that the rental property had a real legit ad on www.vrbo.com with the ID number 306441 (they were stealing pics and stuff from the real legit ad)...We also found out the scam artist were so sneaky that we found out they had listed the owner on the rental agreement (he was surprised). On the agreement was listed the supposed scam artist names of Henri Hessels and Pedro E. Hurtado. Hope this helps anyone else thinking of renting this property.
