I live in South Africa where crime is particularly bad & I was a victim of theft when my Acer Aspire laptop was stolen out the car on 21 March. On 7 April I browsed OLX laptops and came across an AD selling my Acer Aspire 4745 for R3200! I knew this because the asking price was unreasonably low & the seller's profile shows a history of over 50 other stolen laptops ranging in makes & models yet all of them are R3200?! I phoned the number given and it was a Nigerian (Nigerian crime syndicate operations account for most illegal activity in South Africa)and I tracked his location to a computer shop that sells/buys stolen pc. The point is I got all of this information through OLX and their blatant disregard for fraudulent sellers with no restrictions put in place I sent an email regarding this to their legal issues just to receive a generic response about advertising opportunities.

Surely OLX must acknowledge the abusive misuse of their free online classifieds and lack of corporate social responsibility by creating an incentive for criminals to steal goods in order to sell to a bigger audience at a greater profit?
