I have just discovered on my bank statement that Amazon have charged me £58.99 for a Prime account that I DO NOT have. Dennis (a customer service representative) on the phone explained she can only see £49 was taken out (of my account on the 23rd of April) and cannot tell me why this sum was taken. This was absolutely unhelpful and frustrating for the both of us. She explained she cannot see that they have taken out £58.99 - Which I can, written in black and white on my HSBC online bank statement. She also told me she cannot express my concerns over this in the short text and that no-one else could help me “for legal reasons”.

I have seen someone else on this website has had exactly the same issue and I would encourage people to check their statements and act on this.

Update: 05/03/2014

They have resolved this fully! I have been reimbursed.
