I have been trying since about 1999. I was switched to residential billing.Did not notice for about 1year. HAD IT ON AUTO PAYMENT FOR YEARS.I called in asked why? noboby knew.I asked if there was a cost difference,I was told no.I asked for it to be switched back never has this resident been commercial.They said it could take up to 3 billing cycles.No problem no difference in cost.????Several more calls like this over next year or so.I was at my friends house going over bills together.Found there is a big difference in billing between commercial and resident. Called RIGHT THEN I was told again it would be changed back to residential because the rules had changed now.??That because I have an upstairs apt.I was considered commercial.( this is not true.)But now rules have changed so I can be residential again.They said they would change it back,and give me only a 3 month refund.Because of the rule change 3 months ago.But again could take at least three months.My friend is a witness to all this.Well again I BELIEVED NICOR.At this point the over billing was around $200.WELL 8 MONTHS LATTER STILL COMMERCIAL.It IS NOW AROUND 2001.ALOT MORE OF THIS KEEPING ON.A friend told me to call utility board?ICC?WHATEVER I AM FEELING ILL JUST GOING OVER THIS AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN"""".I hate feeling like a victim.So anyway they ordered nicor change me to residential and give me the back over charges.Well I thought its finally over.Took a while but I recieved a check for 2years back over charges 2005 back to 2003 ($500).lETTER SAID THEIR RECORDS ONLY GO BACK 2 YRS.I would have to find,copy and send all my bills of about 4 yrs. back.So I did.Now 6 months latter nothing.Call will check get back to me.3 MONTHS NOTHING.again this went on.Finally someone told me well your are missing a few bills so we cant pay you until we have each one.I asked if they could figure around the missing ones and pay me.The answer was no.i think 3 or 4 bills were missing.I had to back away for awhile the frustration was hurting my health.I was getting very ill.Other THINGS were going on in my life also but this was really horrible.I came back in letters and phone calls. But nothing but no!letters have been going on since.I was so angry I stopped paying my bill.Was sending the bills to the complaint dept. asking them to have them paid with the money owed me.I told them there is a mentally and physically challenged person living here.Please I am just asking for the money taken from me.BLACK AND WHITE PROOF THE BILLS.there is also an 8 month old baby and a6yr old living here.I hope this made sense so much more has happen,ButI cant do anymore now. thanks to anyone who can help.The gas was shut off may,8 2014 I just touched on thr high lights so much more
