This company essentially draw you in by offering to search multiple loan companies for you, a service similar to comparethemarket. However, the loan search with Quidfinder requires your card details. It all seems like they are carrying out quite a harmless credit check to make sure the loan companies can offer you loans.

At no point is there a mention of a charge for the search, nor is there a mention that this company in fact sign you up for a membership with them.

As soon as your details are processed you can expect to receive a charge of £67, literally for carrying out the search, which in itself is absolutely ridiculous and absurd.

Of course, this company is clearly violating the Financial Services Distance Marketing Regulations 2004 because they do not make the charges clear, they don't make the membership clear and they don't give you any indication that you're signed up for anything until money is already swiped out of your account. Unfortunately, they also don't like answering their phones to give out refunds.

If you want anything from this company you'll have to do it in writing.

Quidfinder, among other companies, are subsidiaries of one larger company; "Katsea Financial Solutions", in Ipswich.

My advice, send them a written letter stating that you had no idea when you entered your card details that they offered a paid service, or a subscription service, and terms of contract were not made clear to you. Explain that you weren't even aware of a contract at all and you don't consider any contractual agreement to be legal.

These people are scammers who think they've found a loophole in the system. You see, by rights they have to cancel your membership with them within 14 days of sign-up, but they only allow cancellation in writing, by post which makes it awkward and difficult.

The thing they have not thought about is that charging people without making it clear to them what you are providing is illegal - it's establishing a fraudulent contract over the internet. In that circumstance, the 14-day 'cooling off period' is irrelevant. You can write them a letter telling them you consider them to be committing fraud and you want your money back. Let you bank know and also contact trading standards.
