Hi.I have announced a flat for rent on gumtree and was cantacted firstly via sms then email that the person called Ernela Dervishi wants to rent the room. She asked for bank account number, but then send the email that due to some problems with trasferring the funds she has used the pay pal account. The trick was that she stated she wanted to send her stuff and needed the pyment for it to be done by me. I received two fake confirmations from Pay Pal that the money has been trasferred to my account but is blocked until i show the proof of payment.
All was well written, passport was sent,the emails were quite urging you to do it as she has already sent the stuff and you have to pay for it quickly. Quite obvious it was a scam especially that "A temporary hold has been placed on this transaction" as per fake Pay Pal notification.
