My business partner purchased through Ebay on 12/12/2014 a
backhoe for $10,890.00 we then incurred transportation costs of
$1,340.00 to get it to our location in Arizona.
Around April of 2015 we were contacted by the Gilbert Az. police
department that the tractor we purchased may be stolen.
The LaPaz county sheriffs came out to confirm that it was a stolen
tractor.
The San Bernadino sherriffs department initiated the investigation as
that was the original victims location.
We were told not to use the equipment at that time and we contacted
Bidadoo Auctions, the sellers to let them know what was happening.
The tractor was picked up and returned to the owner on 06/29/2015.
Since then we have been in contact with Bidadoo who have
consistently assured us that they would cover our loses but they
needed the police report for their insurance company. we sent them
the police report in July of this year and now no one returns our
calls and on one responds to our emails.
I contacted Ebay today who informed me that their buyer guarantee was only good for 30 days and can offer us
no other help whatsoever, the guarantee does not mention the 30 day limit in the basic language but is hidden away on their site.
The frustrating thing about this is that this wasn't some individual selling this equipment it is a multi million dollar auction house that does almost all their business thru Ebay. Th rep I spoke to basically told me we are screwed. I couldn't even file a complaint with Ebay because it was past the 30 day limit.
