While using my iPad and on the Internet a window popped up stating that my device had just been invaded by a virus and included a phone number . I tried to get the pop up to go away to no avail. I shut the device off for several minutes but when I turned it back on the pop up was still there.

So I called the number and it was Dialport Solutions. All of the voices sounded East Indian. They went through this whole rigmarole about the "virus" and the bottom line was they could fix it for a one time fee of $79.99. So like an idiot I paid them and sure enough the pop up was removed. Very clever these people. Too bad they don't channel it in a legitimate direction.


I called my bank the next day and submitted a fraud alert and got my money back that way. I also called Dialport and asked for a refund and they said I would have to fill out a form online. No doubt they would ask for my bank account info as the scam continues. I said no and told them I knew they were scam artists and was filing a complaint. They became indignant and told me someone from their "billing" department would call me. Over the next few days I received several calls from them but did not answer. They are insidious. After they scam you they will call you and attempt to do it again. And they sound legit. They even have a professional looking website with "reviews" of their "work"
