My mother got scammed by this company. This is her story

I was online on safari, and a screen from Safari came on saying I needed to close it down, but when I tried I couldn't and the screen came up again stating I was under viral attack. A message popped up on the computer and directed me to call to acquire a service rep. 1-888- 300-8828. As they discussed with me what they would do to protect my computer, saying my computer had a worm, I had too many IP addresses, and that many files on my computer were asleep. They would clear out any virus out of system and fix my firewall. I had to go onto another website, download a program to give them access to my computer. Took a couple hours for the whole discussion and transaction and they guaranteed me they would be in contact regularly to see how my computer was holding up. They then charged me 299.99USD for 6 months of tech support, and 3 year anti virus program.

Upon further inspection,the computer was found to have malware installed, they deleted my antivirus software Mackeeper. They have called twice today, and we have argued with them about how their company is a scam. Beware.
