I first fell victim to this vacation scam in 2014. I paid a deposit of $347AUD to 'South Pacific Getaways' via credit card over the phone. I later decided to cancel the offer because it seemed poorly organised and uninformed and requested a refund aswell. I was told to fill out the certificate and write cancelled on the form, scan it and send it back with proof of ID. I did this and still I was denied a refund. I figured out it was a scam so I accepted my losses and did not pay the further $700 they said I still owed.

However this month, two years later, they tried to withdraw first $1103.07 from my account then followed by a further amount for $157.58. My bank denied it as it was unauthorised and immediately notified me thank god! However I have had to cancel my credit card and notify multiple authorities of this activity. Scamwatch, ACORN, My Bank, Telstra etc.

My personal Identity is now slightly vulnerable to theft and I have had to take measures to prevent any further trouble. I did have enough sense to black out certain numerical details on my ID however they have my signature etc because I was silly enough to sign the certificate.

It's important to remember that their offer was never genune therefore we are all entitled to all of our money back and I hope they find them soon and kick the s#$% out of them!
