I applied on Craigslist for a Full-Time Receptionist position and received this email:

Our Human Resource manager would like to schedule an interview with you before she leaves for vacation early next week. You need to complete the pre-interview screening before we can schedule an interview, which can be found at http://job-in-coleman.info or the career link on our homepage. Your applicant code is 074992.

Please write down your code, as that is the only way you can gain access to your application and employee profile. Once you complete your screening someone from HR will contact you within 72 hours to schedule an interview.

I did the application and upon completion, was asked to go to creditreport.com to verify my identity. I filled in the information and called this morning to cancel the trial period (you have 9 days to cancel the trial membership from signing up). The company representative stated they had no affiliation with the company and that they were getting a large amount of calls from customers who had applied through Craigslist and were getting routed to creditreport.com. Luckily, there were no issues canceling the credit monitoring service; however, I'm now concerned my application bore information that could be used against me.
