I was sent a cheque for this amount, told it was for charity, and actually believed it was, for they were not asking me for any of my own money up front, as a lot of " scammers" do. The person I talked with on the phone was an investor, Charles Dufferin, and when I got the cheque, and it cleared, but a day later, it was proved to be couterfeit. I called him to ask him about it, but he has not answered me, even though he told me, when I told him I got a call from my bank, that there was no problem. The number he called from, that showed up on my phone, was 1-416-682-7000, and a number that I could reach him at is 1-647-388-4178.
