I received a letter today saying that they are collecting on debt due to Hollywood Video. I know that I was not in any way late on my videos before this company went under. I was familiar with the staff there and always received phone calls if my dvd was even a few days late. They listed the movies that were past due. 2 of the movies I have never even seen. I am not so much concerned about the 35.91 as I am that it is a false claim and wonder how many more of these are out there. Why was I NOT notified prior to it being sent to collections. I am not in the practice of NOT paying my bills. I don't want to pay this and I don't want others to either. Is this going to cause damage to my credit? I called the company and they did not help me at all and just said to follow the claims process on the back of the letter. The claims process only says that I must call to dispute, which is what I did.

- I too just received a letter from West Bay Acquisitions, LLC saying that I owe them $75.89 for movies never returned. This information is false as I too have been loyal to paying my bills. The staff at the Hollywood video did let me know when a movie was late. I know that before they closed their doors I was in good standing with them. Also why am I getting this for movies that were checked out 3-4yrs ago? Even if this was true, why was there no letter sent, PRIOR TO HOLLYWOOD VIDEO'S DOORS CLOSING, informing customers that there was an outstanding balance? I am questioning the validity of this letter. Does anyone know if this is a scam?

- I too received the same letter for 3 late fee charges for Hollywood video! For 2 years ago! Not paying this! Calling credit bureau!
