I ordered shampoo from Amazon.com (Macadamia Oil Shampoo) and it is absolutely fake. I did not know it was fake until I saw the product at another retailer and the packaging was totally different. The color and smell was also different. I then recalled using the same shampoo that I bought previously from a different retailer and noticing that it was different. I read the reviews on the product, and nearly all of the reviews said the same thing. I called customer service, and they issued me a refund. The customer service representative told me that the product was indeed sold and distributed by Amazon and not another affiliate. Basically, I accused them of false advertising. She told me they were "investigating" it and that there was nothing more she could do for me. However, it's a health risk because the product is supposed to be all natural. If this most likely cheaper replacement product isn't, someone with allergies could react to the product. Regardless, it is illegal and totally unethical. Could SOMEONE tell me if it would be worth taking legal action to resolve this? It is incredibly disconcerting for the customer.
