Forest Law Group sent me a letter claiming to be able to help me lower my interest rate to 2%. They told me that there was only a 1% chance I would not qualify. This was thru the making home affordable plan. In the documentation it does mention that you can contact MHA plan yourself and request a loan modification, but of course they don't tell you that and after not being able to refinance do to the value of my home going down due to the economy, and all the foreclosures in my neighborhood, I thought I could trust them. I was wrong... They are a law group, but they are scammers. I should never have had to pay money if I contacted MHA own my own. I feel so stupid. They are slick and know what to say, things like Trust me this one time and I will give you your money back even after the 5 business day limit to show how trustworthy we are. All lies. Please don't get scammed like I did. Now I am in further debt of $3114 and If they approve me for the HARP refinancing modification then I'll be in further debt because you have to come up with a downpayment. I feel so violated!
