i recieved a call the morning of may 28 2013 from a number in the San Francisco bay area number415-484-213 stating that i owed a debtor over 4000 dollars but they would settle for 750 if i paid in 20 minutes via CVS pharmacy to say this sounded strange would be dumb when i asked who the people were that i owed the money to i was told he couldnt tell me just that if it was not paid i would be arrested that day. Needless to say i did not pay the money i then googled it and found all these scams. about an hour later i recieved another call from the same person with an indian as in india accent telling me he was calling from the LA county sheriff dept even though the area code was from SF and not LA he didnt seem to know what i was talking about but he would not give me his name or badge number i then told him that i had called the albuquerque police dept. and turned in their number as fraud he then hung up on me. At first i was worried because they did have my ss number but at my insistance and by asking questions i was able to get rid of them if this happens to anyone else you need to call the police in your area and let them know, the nice woman at the albuquerque police said that she had had 3 calls this morning seemingly all from the same person.
