I just received a call apparently based out of Washington, DC claiming to work with the government and that I had just seen randomly selected to win $8000 if I had an active checking account, credit card, or green dot card that the money could be transferred to. He said it would only take 45 minutes once I gave him my account number or credit card number. I immediately googled the number while I was on the phone with him and read dozens of reports from people who have had the same call. I asked him what his name was and he tried telling me that it was "Steve Black" even though he had a very thick middle eastern accent of some sort. I asked him what country he was from because he obviously wasnt from the US and he couldn't tell me. He just said he wasn't a US citizen....When he said his supervisor would call me immediately back once I gave him my account information, I laughed and hung up the phone. He tried calling me back three more times, all of which I declined.
