Initially started through ordering internet from Comcast. I moved my mom to Michigan from Kansas, ordered comcast internet services for her ipad. During phone ordering, comcast offered a 100% 'rebate' deal for the modem and router equipment if I elect to purchase them from a company named Techzilla, which comcast recommended. After clarifying what 100% meant, I agreed, and Comcast cust service stated a modem and router will be mailed to me. I will then have to go through Techzilla itself for the actual rebate, and comcast stated this process is merely routine and completely valid for 100% rebate. I then paid comcast 180.00 for both items, and made appt for comcast tech to come to my mom's new home and set up the internet services. When the comcast tech arrived on scheduled set up date, he did not know how to set up the modem/router. He plugged it all together, but I had to contact Techzilla and go through their systems of set up. Headache. The Techzilla rep was a punk ass kid, who laughed at me while trying to walk me through system set up and ID'ing numbers, trying other settings, etc. Finally told me it must be my Ipad. OK, I'm not an IT specialist and don't know how to guess on speeds and settings for modem/router remote systems set up online. I just ordered the shit and thought comcast would set it up. Finally figured it out through settings guessing and problem solving myself, and what ensued was regular loss of internet and resetting it up about 3x/per month. All this said, I also followed w/sending in all the rebate info as requested, first bill payment info, etc (should cancel comcast!) Nearly a year later have not received rebate of 180.00 I have had a series of phone call efforts over the year, only to be told it's been 'escalated' but that means 'renewed' and will take 'another 16 weeks' to 'process'. One phone Techzilla tech tried to talk me 'out of the rebate' by 'offering 500.00 worth of coupons for my shopping pleasure'--coupons that 'amounts even MORE than the rebate of 180.00', coupons for Shopping? I don't shop, and I don't eat at Ruby Tuesdays. The scam was offered by simply asking me "....would you like me to do that for you, Mrs Garza?" --a questioning line which was unclear and did NOT clarify that it was in REPLACE of the 180.00 rebate. That would be confirmed by a simple email. Because of this young man's strong accent, I asked him to clear it up and re-explain, due to the implying of coupons were in 'addition' to the rebate, not 'replacing' the rebate. I finally said DO NOT SEND ME THAT EMAIL, since it became clear that would be their confirmation that I agreed not to get my rebate, but rather the useless coupons. Jesus! SO, here I am, now looking like a hawk, but I would not be doing this if it wasn't for 180.00! I have now received an email from Techzilla stating they sent me a check in the mail on Jan 28, but I have not seen it. After calling them on this, the rep said it would not be from Techzilla, but from a company named Saveology? So, I may have rec'd this but tossed it in junk mail? Company name change? What is this? So now they are supposedly going to 'track' the check and if it's been cashed, I'm S.O.L. I want to boycott Comcast for allowing this and wiping their hands off of it. I think Comcast should pay me now! Techzilla clearly has their manipulative tactics and is not going to pay me. I'm disgusted. And this is the end, Sincerely Kathy Garza
