My wife ordered a book from this website and a week later I got a text from my credit card company of a charge without the card for $19.95 from MAX LOYALTY LLC. When she got home I asked if she ordered something that day and she said , "No", but she ordered a book a week ago and she showed me the email confirmation of that order on 12/7/2011. I then called the credit card company and they said MAX LOYALTY LLC was connected to hotbooksale.com. I then went to the web site and looked it over. I saw books with a list price, your savings, and your price. Also under "Special Offers" I noticed the "$5 off your first order!" and "Free Shipping on the first item you order!" I eventually scanned to the bottom of the page and in a lighter than normal print was the statement, "Price shown includes $5 off your first order when you join BestBrandValues! Not valid for current members. With your purchase you'll also enjoy a 7-day trial membership for only $1 in the BestBrandValues program at $19.95/month unless you cancel during the trial period. Members ... Click here for Details". So, I clicked for the details and then the web page came back which still had list price, you save, and your price, but now included (and in red) "Member Price". Well, that is the way the web page should have looked in the beginning so there would not be buyers getting duped into a membership program! I then woke my wife up and had her call and cancel her membership. By now it was 30 minutes past midnight and we were screwed for $19.95. We have a cancellation number but I'm going to keep an eye out for future charges from these shysters.
