I ordered a Chi straightener online from Overstock Beauty Supply (OBS). I wrongly thought that this company was part of Overstock.com, a website I trust. I received no confirmation that OBS had received my order, even after emailing the company to confirm that they had in fact received my order. I was surprised to actually receive the product in the mail, and even more surprised when it stopped working in January of this year, less than 6 months after placing my order. I reached out to the company requesting that they replace the product because I found online that Chi products have a 2 year warranty. I heard nothing in response. I found on the OBS website that they have a 30 day return policy for faulty products, and being that it had been six months since I had placed my order my complaint falls outside of that window. I reached out to OBS anyways, to see if they would replace the product per the Chi warranty policy. After three emails I still have heard nothing from Overstock Beauty supply. I'm filing this report because it is my belief that Overstock Beauty Supply is selling low quality counterfeit products under the Chi brand name. I would like other consumers to be warned that it may appear that OBS has great prices for brand name products, but that consumers may not be getting what they think they are paying for. The product will probably stop working long before it should and Overstock Beauty Supply's dismal 30 day guarantee will cause them to ignore any complaint that falls outside of that window.
