am a self-sufficient person in every aspect of my life. I am not computer literate overall and certainly needed help with a website I was considering for my handmade gemstone jewelry. I usually shop around for the best prices and comparisions on everything I purchase, but....I failed to do so with this venture...SHAME ON ME...
I went to a Storesonline seminar locally, Tucson, AZ, and I was "seduced" by the presentation and the sales people. My husband went with me and we knew we had limited funds available to start a new business. We advised the salesman of our finances and he persisted and insisted until he had convinced us that we could make it because we would be earning extra money through the new website We did breakdown and purchased the "Silver" package and went into business online.
It took about a month for them to get our website up and online with us doing most of the work. I called for help a lot and they did give assistance, but only answered the direct questions I asked. I did not know what questions to ask....so it was difficult.
I was proud of the new website and worked very hard on it and the promotion of the site through the free ads and links and anything I could to get the name out there. It takes time, so I worked every day, all day on getting the site out to the public.
Meantime, I am starting to receive calls from all the other "support" companies out there telling me the problems with my site and how they could make it better and get traffic. I took the problems to Storesonline so they could correct them and they just blew me off saying that it was not necessary, things like XML on site map and 404 error problems. They did always offer me more support but it would cost me extra. I could just barely afford to make the monthly payment to them and I surely could not afford any "extra" support payments.
I kept working and struggling, but during the nine months that I was with them, I got a total sum of $40.00 in sales. I finally had a person tell me about the Google merchant guidelines and some of the other great things Google offers to help get you found by the SEO;s. I downloaded an XML on my site map myself and I immediately showed up on Google Search on page 6. I was impressed and so happy. Then...I was introduced to a local man that knows how to do a wonderful website and get me on Google, Yahoo, Bing and other search engines immediately and I am NOT paying a dime for the web hosting. He was my savior...and yes he can help all you people that have Storesonline as a web host.
Storesonline is now after me to finish paying them the balance of the contract, but I refuse to pay them another penny. They did nothing for me except make my financial life difficult and did nothing in return for me. I only got superficial help from them and no business. They talk a good game, but do not produce any results for you or your website.
GET RID OF STORESONLINE IMMEDIATELY. STOP PAYING.
