I thought I had found the reservation site of the Marriott. I made a reservation. Usually the Marriott has very good cancellation policies so I didn't really give it a second thought. I double checked a couple of travel websites to make sure I was getting an appropriate nightly rate. Something has come up and I wanted to cancel or get credit for the booking (more than 48hrs prior to the booked date). They will only cancel, they don't refund. So the owners of 'reservation-desk.com' will keep the money while still being able to resell the room to someone else.
