We have a three week old computer - still under guarantee and insured. My elderly husband was trying to find a means of 'cleaning' the new computer. This company advertised a £69 charge for this service. This proved unsuccessful. When my husband phoned to ask for help a technician, from a 'partner company', quoted £270. I spoke to him saying we could not afford that amount, however, he went ahead and inveigled my husband into parting with £270 but the £69 would be reimbursed. I have written a letter the AvanQuest who have kindly reimbursed most of this money but I would like to warn other unsuspecting computer user to be wary of this. Our son, an IT specialist with a masters degree, says this service can be done free of charge if one goes through the correct channels.
