I was sent a very glossy brochure and information by EU International in regard to making money online through horse racing, the brochure outlined how it all worked and had very genuine figures on back data. I spoke to a guy to ask for more information, he told me that I could make $10,000 in six months, he sounded so genuine explaining it was all done by using their TAB software in 2 ways either calling an Australian number every Saturday for races that meet the criteria and then placing two bets, really easy and 66% accurate or using the software from a program they would send out on disc to load on ones own computer. As I have a Mac I asked if compatible & was told yes (not the case as I found out later).There were only a hundred places and 4 left at that stage. To be a part of this I needed to pay$1,0000 and have $1000 in a TAB account to begin. I looked them up on the net and made several other enquiries but couldn't find any negative information about them at the time, I had been scammed before so was wary but not enough obviously. I received my pack and was contacted by a man calling himself Clive Griffen, who would be my customer service contact. The program did not work on the Mac and after several phone calls and being told I needed to download other software packages to do a conversion, I gave up and reverted to the phone calls each week which cost $2 each time. In January 2013, after several more calls to Clive only to be told that the program was in a lull and would pick up (which it didn't) I wrote to the company with my complaint asking for my money back.I received a reply on their letterhead from a Brisbane office saying they only refund if the software is faulty or defective not on grounds of "lost money". I find this is most unsatisfactory but it seems my hands are tied. I am still making the calls each week and getting the 2 bets most of which certainly do not bring any money back into the TAB account, so losing money both ways. I am on a pension and thought this something I could do to supplement income.
